Fun Aerobic Exercise
Posted 8/08/2009 Fun aerobic exercise -- now we're talking! You want to increase your heart rate for an extended period of time. But how do you keep it from getting bo-ring? Vary your aerobic types. Use this list to do as many kinds of aerobic exercise as possible. Steps - Steps are great, and useful. Your workout will be less likely to get stale because you are actually stepping up and down at times, adding some fun to the routine. They are available at most gyms and health clubs and are also sold for home use. You can get them in one or two-step sizes to suit your needs. If you have stairs in your house these can also work for this exercise.
Treadmills - A treadmill is the old standby. Always reliable, since it provides a terrific way to walk or run. Weather's never a problem, and you can move at your own pace. You'll find them in any gym or health club you visit, and they're also sold for home use. The best ones include a heart rate monitor to help you reach and maintain your peak performance. Hip-Hop Dance - Hip-Hop and aerobic movement were made for each other. If you love to dance, this is a perfect workout for you. Water Aerobics - Water aerobics allows you to break out of your normal routine and get a little wet. Always fun. Water exercise is also much easier on the joints and due to the water resistance, the exercising will be more fluid. This is great if you are new to exercising or have physical limitations. There's home pools, gym pools, and even vacation hotel pools, so this option can often be available to you. Jump Rope - Jumping rope is great aerobic exercise. It can be easily done at home, and jump ropes don't cost a lot. Put on your favorite music and create a routine of your own that works for you. Start off gently, though, and work up to your desired speed. Bicycling / Spinning - Bicycling outdoors allows you to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. When the weather's bad, having a bike in your home works as well. For those with balky backs, get a recumbent bike (which has a seat back)... Spinning is also done inside and is an entertaining way to combine cycling in a class setting. Tae Bo / Kickboxing - For something completely new try a tae bo or kickboxing class. This fun aerobic exercise is a great alternative to the usual aerobic classes. There are plenty of videos available as well so you can practice your tae bo at home as well as at the gym. There you go. You now have plenty of ideas to do some fun aerobic exercise. And of course, we at Fit-Teen think Ashley's Workout is a great way to do even more
